About this site

This website is a project of the Languages department at Cegep Garneau in Quebec City, Canada.  Started in August of 2020, its goal is simple: to help serve the needs of its English-as-a-second language students as well as those of the general Cégep community.  These needs include, above all, having the opportunity to excel in the area of English proficiency.  Although this site has been tailored primarily with the needs of Cegep students in mind, students and teachers from other educational institutions are welcome.  No doubt they will find many of the activities on this site suitable for their purposes, be them academic, professional or personal.

About our department

Garneau’s English teachers are dedicated to upholding the general values, vision and mission statements as set out in the college’s Strategic Plan for 2020-2025.  The complete plan can be found by clicking here.

Vision

Moving forward, we will be proud to work with the college to offer a quality education to our students.  We English teachers at Garneau’s Languages department believe that their improved English skills will give them the tools to not only succeed, but also flourish in their future pursuits.

Mission

Our general mission is in keeping with that of the college which is « to train competent and committed students, young people and adults who will go on to contribute to the growth of society. » We as English teachers aim to help our students improve their English proficiency so that they may succeed in their future endeavours, be them academic, professional or personal.
